Show Notes

AB Tucker is the gust today, and she tells the story of her brother being wrongfully accused of murder, and how that has pushed her down her own path for criminal justice, and to set right what was wronged. As AB tells the harrowing story of her brother being wrongfully accused of murder, Alexandra, Lenya, and AB touch on the prison industrial system, and how the system doesn’t care if they pick the wrong Black man, or boy, and the actual perpitrator is on the streets and could strike again, giving the system another opportunity to put a Black man behind bars; that’s actually the point. Alexandra uses her lawyer background to dissect the story of AB’s brother, and see where there were pitfalls, and maybe how to use them to change the case. But also she describes how difficult it still will be, a whole system working against them. Race and Wine

So many of us take for granted our everyday things that give us joy--even our wine. But when you take a moment to stop and look around or turn over a stone, you can find a surprisingly racist history. Lenya and Alexandra discuss the racism that’s ingrained all over the world in the wine industry, how Lenya has trained to be a WSET level 3 expert in wine, how athletes and celebrities should be using their platforms to be allies instead of just preformative, and more on this episode of Women Bridging The Gap. New Year Goals

It’s a new year and time for the reckoning of last year’s resolutions and looking to the future. Alexandra and Lenya each share the goals they aimed for in 2020, before knowing what a crazy year it would be, and lay out with radical honesty their achievements and the places they fell short. They also discuss their 2021 goals and vow to hold one another accountable. What are your goals for 2021? Do you have certain books to read, some physical or financial effort you want to make, or maybe you want to join a great community of like-minded people to share ideas and grow together? Check out our [WBG Facebook Group](https://www.facebook.com/groups/665585734389981) and tell us and the rest of the community what your goals are for this year.
