Show Notes

Lenya performed at a weightlifting competition last week and is here to tell ua all about it. Not only did she tell us about how she won and what it was like, but explained the sport and the competition, how it’s judged, and what comes next.

Holidays are coming up, so we discuss what we have planned, and how we plan to not eat too much, famous last words.

But don’t think we just forgot about race issues, rounding out the episode we discuss Kyle Writtenhouse’s trial, the murder of Ahmaud Arbery and how that trial is getting less attention, and the overall weight of news today.

Alexandra was on a Gen-X trivia night podcast episode you can find here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/who-will-save-generation-x-trivia-game-show/id1550660608

American Ninja Warrior Kadeem Aaron

Join us to talk with Kadeem Aaron, a successful Ninja Warrior on both the Australian and American versions of the show! He also happens to be Lenya’s son.   Kadeem goes over how he got started, what it takes to be a Ninja, some of the differences between the American and Australian shows, and his training practice. Formula 1 with SteF1

The all F1 episode is finally here! Lenya brought on Steph from the All About SteF1 YouTube channel to school Alexandra on all the drama, drivers, trophies, and shenanigans that is the wild world of Formula 1. It’s not just race cars though. These women also discuss how race is and isn’t represented in motorsports, just as how femininity is also notably missing, as well as the ecological impact of the cars and the transportation to make this “worldwide” sport happen. From Steph’s YouTube description: “Hi all! I am Steph and welcome to my little corner of the internet where I talk about all things motorsport! I am obsessed with F1, so that's the main one, but stay tuned for more content coming on lower formulas, Formula E and MotoGP! :) :)” Links from our discussion: [All About SteF1 - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/c/AllAboutSteF1/featured) [Formula 1: Drive To Survive - Netflix](https://www.netflix.com/title/80204890) -- Please **rate and review** this podcast if you enjoyed it; reviews greatly help new listeners see this podcast is worth their time. Interview with Nicole and Cassidy Part 2

We continue the conversation with mother Nicole and daughter Cassidy Meyers, today discussing the racism received by being Black in a White neighborhood and how it can be so subtle or indiscriminate that it’s confusing and disorienting. Also, “the talk’, and how it may be different for young men and young women. Lastly, a generational discussion on WAP by Cardi B. and Megan Thee Stallion, how it empowers women, and how it alone is not good enough. Nicole Meyers is an attorney in Los Angeles, California, where she practices plaintiff-side employment law. She holds a J.D. from Southwestern Law School, a B.A. in Theatre from UCLA, and is licensed to practice law in California and New York. Before becoming an attorney, Nicole traveled the world working as an actress and model. When she’s not aggressively advocating for her clients, Nicole’s likely enjoying quality time with her husband, children, and their three frisky cats. Cassidy Meyers is a senior photography major, writing minor at Spelman College. She’s a Los Angeles native who has been living in Atlanta for the past four years attending college. Recently, she participated in a program called ‘Black Future Creators’ through Beats where she got to create content related to her photography journey, which was featured on their site. She has loved the arts since childhood, and plans on continuing to use photography as a form of self expression. -- Please **rate and review** this podcast if you enjoyed it; reviews greatly help new listeners see this podcast is worth their time.
